BNDES has promoted its Exim Pré-embarque credit line, which provides indirect financial support to Brazilian companies during the production phase to assist with supplier payments and raw material costs. BNDES president Aloizio Mercadante stated that reducing financing costs is vital for maintaining global competitiveness. Following this, a joint congressional commission approved an expansion of the Plano Brasil Soberano 3. This measure, part of Medida Provisória 1379/26, aims to provide up to R$ 28.5 billion in subsidized credit to exporters and suppliers to mitigate the economic impact of US tariffs and international instabilities. The expansion adds R$ 13.5 billion to existing limits, with funding sourced from the National Treasury and BNDES. The credit targets strategic sectors such as agriculture, livestock, forestry, fishing, aquaculture, mining, and the chemical industry and pharmaceutical industries for investments in technology, machinery, and working capital. To remain valid, the Provisional Measure must be approved by Congress by November 18.
