In August 2026 Brazil’s federal education network continued expanding support for students and research projects. The Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP) issued Edital nº 147/2026 to hire a multiplier for the Hortas e Quintais Produtivos urban‑gardening initiative, with applications accepted until 9 August, a curriculum review on 10 August, interviews on 12–13 August and results announced on 14 August. The Federal University of Southern and Southeast Pará (Unifesspa) received a donation of electronic‑waste equipment and materials from the Padre Pio Health Post and the Capuchin Church on 30 July. The items will support the university’s E‑Lixo research project on e‑waste collection, recycling and circular‑economy solutions, and will be used for teaching, research and extension activities. The Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA) Campus Santarém opened a selection process for the 2026 Auxílio Permanência program, allocating R$ 67.2 million to provide four installments of R$ 300 to vulnerable students. Applications run online from 10 to 25 August, with preliminary results expected on 31 August and final results on 9 September. Separately, IFSP also launched a public consultation on a draft resolution governing student representation entities across its campuses. Running from 6 August to 8 September 2026, the consultation invites suggestions on online suggestions, additions or deletions concerning student unions, academic centers, central directories and athletic associations. After the deadline, a 30‑day review commission will shape a have 30 days to review contributions and draft the final resolution resolution, aimed at strengthening participation, clarifying election procedures, defining use of institutional spaces and guaranteeing support for student activities and rights.
