The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), in collaboration with the Ministries of Sports and Women, launched the ‘Papo de Homem’ campaign. The initiative, themed ‘In football, violence does not enter the field,’ seeks to engage male athletes and fans in preventing violence against women. This launch coincided with the introduction of the National Social and Sporting Legacy Plan for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which aims to increase female participation and create safe environments against racism and violence. Following this, the government of Bahia implemented an edition of the ‘Papo de Homem’ project in Salvador. Coordinated by the Department of Protection of Women, Citizenship, and Vulnerable People in partnership with the Civil Police Academy, the event focused on domestic and family violence prevention. The initiative engaged security forces from across the state to discuss masculinity patterns and the role of security professionals in preventing gender-based crimes. Recent sessions of the project in Salvador, held at the Bahia Public Ministry auditorium, expanded participation to include security agents from all 417 municipalities in Bahia via online connection. The discussions involved a broad range of institutions, including the Military Police, Fire Department, Technical Police Department, Municipal Guards, Public Defender's Office, and the Court of Justice of Bahia. Participants addressed the influence of movements such as ‘red pill’ and emphasized the responsibility of security professionals to foster a culture of protection and respect for protective measures to prevent crimes before they occur.
