In late July 2026 Brazil’s social and youth secretariats launched a series of free short‑term vocational courses for aimed at disadvantaged groups. The Secretaria Executiva da Mulher (Semu) concluded completed its Escola de Capacitação para Mulheres (Escap) cycle, awarding certificates to 45 women who completed finished an Administrative Assistant program. Graduates reported new technical skills, increased greater confidence and better improved prospects for financial independence, while officials highlighted the neighbourhood‑based delivery model. The Secretaria Executiva da Juventude (Sejuv) opened registrations for two free professional qualification courses—Manicure and Pedicure, and Computer Maintenance—running from 27 to 31 July, daily from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The manicure course targets newcomers to the beauty sector; the computer‑maintenance course, open to participants aged 15 or older, covers basic operation, diagnostics and repair. Both programs award a 20‑hour certificate to attendees who meet the attendance requirement. Although the initial notice listed Sejuv’s at its headquarters on Avenida Afonso Pena as the venue, later reports confirmed that the courses are being delivered in Mossoró at that same address. Expanding its academic support, Sejuv announced a free ENEM writing workshop in collaboration with Faculdade Syntese. The intensive session runs from 3 to 7 August, offering 250 seats: 100 in morning classes (8 a.m. to 10 a.m.) at the curriculum Sejuv headquarters and 150 in evening classes (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.) at the Teatro do Paço Municipal. The workshop, limited and first‑come‑first‑served, covers English, mathematics, essay structure, writing techniques and other subjects to improve participants’ chances of admission to higher‑education institutions.
