The Brazilian music scene is highlighted by major upcoming events and recognition. The Festival Canta is returning to Niterói for its 10th anniversary on October 10, 2026, at Caminho Niemeyer. Organized by Grupo Onda, the event is expected to host up to 15,000 people across three stages and features a lineup including Menos é Mais, Pedro Sampaio, Nattan, Léo Foguete, and MC Cabelinho. In broader industry news, the Latin Recording Academy has announced nominees for the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, scheduled for November 12 in Las Vegas. Anitta is a primary standout, nominated for Album of the Year for ‘EQUILIBRIVM’ and Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese. Other notable Brazilian nominees include Zeca Veloso, who is also up for Best New Artist, and Zaynara, who received her first nomination for Best Roots Music Album in Portuguese for ‘Amor Perene’. The list of recognized artists is extensive, spanning genres such as samba, rap, and instrumental music, including Marisa Monte, Urias, Criolo, Johnny Hooker, and Ana Castela, who competes in the Best Sertanejo Album category for ‘Fire Arena’.
