Infrastructure developments and traffic management efforts are being implemented across various Brazilian regions. In Belém, construction on a major viaduct has necessitated temporary traffic diversions and weight restrictions for heavy vehicles on certain routes to manage access to the São Brás neighborhood. In Brusque, local officials have called for better traffic signaling and dust control to address safety concerns and accidents involving heavy vehicles, noting that GPS applications often direct drivers toward unsuitable routes. Meanwhile, infrastructure improvements have been completed in João Monlevade, where a R$4 million project focused on widening lanes and resizing roundabouts to increase capacity. In Paraná, work has commenced on the Ayrton Senna Bridge to install solar-powered lighting and new reflective road studs to enhance nighttime visibility and safety. Significant progress has also been reported on the Salvador-Itaparica Bridge, a project connecting Salvador to Vera Cruz in the Baía de Todos-os-Santos. Engineering teams have installed 21 piles to serve as the foundation for platforms supporting the 682-meter central span. This public-private partnership involves an estimated R$11.6 billion investment, including R$3 billion from the federal government’s New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC). To support the structural assembly of the central span, the Chinese vessel Tie Jian Da Qiao Zhuang 1, one of the world’s largest pile-driving ships, is en route to Brazil from the port of Lüsi.
