Various state and municipal traffic departments in Brazil are organizing public auctions for vehicles and automotive scrap. In São Paulo, Detran-SP is conducting multiple auctions, including an online session starting August 25 with 129 drivable vehicles and scrap, a Catanduva auction on September 28 featuring 668 lots, and a São José do Rio Preto auction starting September 9 with 710 lots. In Rio Grande do Sul, Detran-RS continues its virtual auction series. Following a September 16 auction, a subsequent virtual session is scheduled for Wednesday the 23rd at 10:00 AM. This session features 858 items held in Removal and Deposit Centers (CRDs) across cities such as Venâncio Aires, Santa Cruz do Sul, and Cachoeira do Sul. The auction includes 243 preserved vehicles for individuals, such as a Hyundai i30 and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, while 615 scrap lots intended for parts reclamation are reserved exclusively for legal entities registered as Vehicle Dismantling Centers (CDVs). In Curitiba, the Municipal Secretariat of Social Defense and Traffic (SMDT) is holding an electronic auction for 27 seized vehicles. In Acre, Detran-AC scheduled an online auction for August 28 to sell approximately 56.2 tons of ferrous scrap metal. In Bahia, Detran-BA is conducting online auctions for seized vehicles in Itabuna, Itaberaba, and Serrinha. ~~Additionally,~~ Transalvador is conducting an online auction for vehicles removed due to traffic ~~violations.~~ violations that were not reclaimed within the 60-day legal period. Participation is tiered: individuals may bid on preserved vehicles and usable scrap, while unusable scrap is reserved for accredited steel and foundry companies.
