The BRILink Agent program, managed by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), continues to expand financial inclusion and economic activity across Indonesia. In South Sumatra, agents in Muara Enim facilitate essential services such as cash transactions and digital wallet top-ups, particularly in mining-supported areas. In South Kalimantan, agents in Barito Kuala Regency bridge the gap for residents far from traditional banks, with agents like Ijay serving thousands of families by facilitating government social assistance and plywood industry wage withdrawals. Recent developments highlight further expansion and specialized service growth. In Medan, North Sumatra, entrepreneur Nilam Sari has scaled her business from a hardware and LPG shop into a network of 15 BRILink outlets located in plantation and industrial areas. These outlets serve as critical alternatives to traditional banks, processing thousands of monthly transactions including cash deposits, transfers, and social assistance disbursements. This growth is driven by a shift in local wage payment systems, as plantation workers increasingly utilize banking services over cash payments. In other regions, agents are diversifying their service models. In Dumai, Riau, Rahmi has expanded her mobile credit business into four outlets, providing money transfers and supplier transactions while prioritizing assistance for elderly customers. In Kutoarjo, Central Java, Sri Asih utilizes her grocery store to offer cash withdrawals and transfers to local residents. In Muara Enim, Nova Yulianti has grown her business to six branches, providing services ranging from tuition fee payments to vehicle installments. On a national scale, BRI is intensifying efforts to improve financial literacy. During the Lampung Financial Festival 2026, BRI Director of Finance & Strategy Achmad Royadi emphasized teaching young people “financial discipline, knowledge, and a growth mindset” to manage income within a digital economy. As of late September 2026, the BRILink network has reached approximately 80% of Indonesian villages with 1.06 million agents, facilitating roughly 750 million transactions with a sales volume of Rp1,270 trillion.
