British apparel brands expansion in Japan
Overview
British lifestyle brands Barbour and Baracuta are expanding their presence in the Japanese market through several new product launches for the autumn/winter 2026 season.
Barbour is introducing new waterproof down jackets based on its Bedale and Border models, featuring 750-fill power goose down. The brand is also collaborating with Urban Research and Urban Research Doors to release exclusive models that reinterpret classic styles with modern silhouettes, including various outerwear and wool or cashmere scarves. Additionally, the Barbour International collection is set to relaunch in Japan on October 2, 2026, marking its first appearance in the country in approximately two and a half years.
Alongside these releases, Baracuta is launching the G4 Light Eco Leather Jacket, a sustainable variation of its iconic G9 Harrington jacket, through the WAIPER online store.
