The Anderson Creek fire was first detected on 23 July 2026 when aircraft responding to nearby blazes saw it spreading rapidly observed rapid spread under strong winds. By 25 July the blaze combined Anderson Creek, Brunswick Creek and Ainslie Creek fires had burned about 9,112 roughly 35,200 ha, produced creating towering pyrocumulus clouds visible from 220 km away, and away. The three fires merged with the northern edge of the Ainslie Creek fire, limiting further north‑ward spread. Crews focused on protecting structures in the Boston Bar corridor while cooler nights and higher humidity were expected to temper activity. On 25 July into the broader Brunswick Creek wildfire complex—including Anderson Creek (9,112 ha), Brunswick Creek (7,268 ha) and Ainslie Creek (17,300 ha)—expanded to a total of 35,197 ha. The complex, prompting the Thompson‑Nicola Regional District issued to issue an evacuation order for 61 properties and an alert for 647 additional homes across Lower Nicola, Canford and Sunshine Valley, with the Valley.
