Separately, Ted Ewald, a former outdoor education teacher in School District 82, entered a consent resolution agreement to receive a lifetime ban from any position requiring a provincial qualification certificate. Ewald admitted his conduct was unbecoming of a teacher after maintaining a sexual relationship with a vulnerable student for approximately six months following the student's graduation. Details of the agreement regarding Ewald indicate that the relationship began approximately five months after the student graduated, involving an overnight trip during which sexual intercourse occurred. Ewald, who taught at Caledonia Secondary and Parkside Secondary, ended the contact by blocking the student on his phone. In the agreement, Ewald acknowledged that educators are held to a higher standard and must serve as role models.
