The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has engaged in multiple criticisms of the current Congress administration in Telangana. Initially, BRS Deputy Leader T. Harish Rao accused the state government of increasing bus fares during the Bathukamma and Dussehra festivals. He alleged that regular services were being reduced in favor of higher-priced special buses, which he claimed placed an economic burden on families. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) denied these claims, stating that fare structures follow 2003 government orders and that special bus operations actually increased by 97 percent to meet festive demand. Following these allegations, the BRS launched a broader grassroots campaign titled ‘Raitu Garjana’ (Farmer's Roar) across North Telangana districts, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal, and Karimnagar. Led by Working President K.T. Rama Rao, the campaign focuses on agricultural crises, crop losses, and the perceived negligence of the Revanth Reddy administration. Party members, including former MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, have also criticized the government for failing to meet election promises regarding drought prevention and irrigation management. As part of this campaign, BRS leaders held a large-scale public meeting in Adilabad at the DIET College grounds. During the event, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao and former minister Jogu Ramanna accused the Revanth Reddy administration of failing to fulfill election promises, specifically regarding loan waivers and the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme. The party demanded that Adilabad be declared a drought-affected district due to water shortages and crop losses. BRS officials also highlighted rising farmer distress, citing reports of suicides and inadequate compensation for crop damage. The party intends to continue these rallies in Nizamabad, Nirmal, and Karimnagar.
