Bruce Springsteen released the ‘Philadelphia Freedom Cut’ on September 9, a free streaming video capturing the first seven songs from the final stop of his ‘Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour’. The performance features the full E Street Band, the E Street Horns and Percussion, the E Street Choir, and special guest Tom Morello. The setlist includes ‘War’, ‘Born in the U.S.A.’, and ‘No Surrender’. Following the release, Springsteen defended the political nature of the 20-concert tour, which ran from March 31 in Minneapolis to May 30 in Philadelphia. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he stated he does not regret the political themes despite losing some fans, noting the tour was an opportunity to place his music in dialogue with the 2026 political climate. He described the tour as an effort to defend the Constitution and democracy. The tour featured the protest song ‘Streets in Minneapolis’, written in response to the deaths of Reneé Good and Alex Pretti during confrontations with immigration authorities. Springsteen also revealed that he is working on two new albums, with one fully recorded and another currently in progress. He is also preparing a multi-part concert film for YouTube. While open to future touring, he indicated he does not envision returning to the massive concert scales previously associated with The E Street ~~Band.~~ Band, expressing a preference for shorter runs of 20 to 30 shows.
