Bryan Zaragoza is transitioning from FC Bayern München to RCD Espanyol. Initially, reports indicated the 24-year-old winger had given consent to a loan deal that would include an option to buy, as Espanyol sought to strengthen its attacking flanks. Following a medical examination at Clínica Corachán, Espanyol officially announced the signing of Zaragoza on loan for the 2026-27 season. The agreement stipulates that Espanyol has an option to purchase the player permanently for approximately 8 million euros, which may become mandatory if certain performance or appearance conditions are met. Under the terms of the loan, Bayern Munich will cover a portion of the player's wages. The move was a priority for Espanyol's sporting director, Monchi, and manager Manolo González, to add attacking depth and versatility. Zaragoza, a former Spanish international and Granada player, returns to La Liga following previous loan spells at Osasuna, Celta Vigo, and AS Roma. This transfer marks his fourth departure from Bayern Munich in two and a half years as the German club manages its squad rotation. Upon joining, Zaragoza expressed a desire to find a long-term home and regain his form, describing Espanyol as an “ideal project” for consistent playing time and personal happiness. Monchi noted that significant financial efforts were required to secure the transfer. When asked about his tenure at Bayern München, Zaragoza declined to provide details, stating, “I'd better keep my mouth shut.”
