On August 12, 2026, BTS members RM and j-hope attended a concert featuring Chris Brown and Usher in Toronto, Canada. Photos of the K-pop idols posing with the Western artists surfaced on social media, triggering a debate among fans. Critics argued that appearing with Brown could be seen as an endorsement of his history of legal issues and allegations of violence, while supporters maintained that attending a performance does not equate to supporting an artist’s personal conduct. The controversy escalated following allegations that Chris Brown responded to a fan’s criticism on TikTok. According to circulating screenshots and recordings, Brown allegedly posted a comment stating, “Pray about it, ho*s,” before the post was deleted. This interaction occurred after a fan expressed conservative Christian views and stated she did not support abusers. In response to the perceived proximity to Brown, some members of the BTS fandom, known as ARMY, utilized hashtags such as #ARMYsAgainstAbusers to voice their disapproval. As of the latest reports, RM RM, j-hope, and ~~j-hope~~ their management have not released public statements regarding the incident.
