Data from the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) for 2025 indicates that approximately one-third of Bulgarian pensioners retire under special regimes rather than standard rules. This includes 1,487,094 individuals under category three labor conditions and 462,101 people through various special modes, such as early retirement, security sector regulations, and heavy labor conditions.
