Following the first round of the Bulgarian presidential elections, the Vazrazhdane party, led by Kostadin Kostadinov, secured third place with approximately 12.5% to 13% of the vote. Kostadinov stated that the party has become a major political factor and that the outcome of the November 1 runoff between Iliana Yotova and Andrey Gurov will depend significantly on Vazrazhdane voters. In response to Kostadinov suggesting that his party's voters might support Yotova rather than Gurov, political leaders Radan Kanev of ‘Democratic Bulgaria’ and Ivaylo Mirchev of ‘Yes, Bulgaria’ alleged a secret alliance between Kostadinov and President Rumen Radev. Kanev described the perceived deal as a ‘red lamp’ for those seeking a democratic and European Bulgaria, claiming such an alliance threatens national security. He further warned that the move could increase Bulgaria's international isolation and impact economic stability. Following the runoff, Kostadin Kostadinov asserted that Vazrazhdane has become an “indispensable factor” in Bulgarian politics. He warned that any political force failing to recognize this influence will lose elections, even when facing coalitions of parties such as GERB and Democratic Bulgaria. Kostadinov also attributed low voter turnout to the refusal of certain political forces to engage in debates, which he believes discouraged citizens from voting.
