Ca Mau province has initiated several large-scale investment and development projects focused on energy, industry, and climate adaptation. In October 2026, the provincial government approved the Ngoc Hien - Tam Giang Tay wind power plant project. This 3.9 trillion VND (approximately $154.7 million) initiative aims to establish a 100MW 100-102MW wind farm through the installation of 12 turbines and supporting electrical infrastructure to bolster energy security. To maintain the project schedule, Vice Chairman Huynh Chi Nguyen has directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate land allocation, marine area leasing, and environmental protection procedures, with local departments tasked to provide state management and supervision. Concurrently, the province is seeking investment for a high-tech aquaculture zone spanning over 5,000 hectares. This project, estimated at more than 5,300 billion VND, focuses on intensive shrimp and mollusk farming to modernize the seafood industry. Additionally, Ca Mau has announced plans to invest over 880 billion VND to relocate more than 3,200 households from disaster-prone coastal and riverbank areas to safer residential sites by 2030.
