Caja de Servicios Sociales board elections

Overview

The Caja de Servicios Sociales (CSS) held historic elections on August 28 to select representatives for its Board of Directors. This event marked only the third time in the organization’s 60-year history that such elections were conducted.

The voting process included both active and passive sectors and utilized a ‘Boleta Única de Papel’ (Single Paper Ballot) system for the first time. Matías Barría, a member of the Permanent Electoral Board, reported high participation levels and noted that the new ballot system facilitated a smooth and efficient process, avoiding potential delays associated with conventional methods.

Following the closure of polling stations at 18:00, provisional scrutiny commenced in the presence of delegates from the four competing lists. On August 29, the ‘Lista Celeste y Blanca – Gestión y Trabajo’ was declared the winner of the elections in Santa Cruz, Argentina, securing a significant margin in both affiliate categories.

In the active affiliate category, the list led by Natalia Huaquil and Luis Huanco secured 3,034 votes, representing 60.53% of the total. In the passive affiliate category, the list led by José Díaz and Mabel Aravena received 949 votes, accounting for 43.91% of the vote. Following the results, the winning group pledged to manage the board with responsibility and defend the rights of all affiliates.
