The Calabria regional government has secured significant funding for major infrastructure projects in the region. In mid-August, 10.74 million euros in residual resources were reactivated to complete the first section of the Sibari–SS 177 Sila road project. This section, covering km 0+000 to km 5+366, was previously 75% complete before work stopped. Elisa Scutellà, the M5S group leader in the Regional ~~Council members have requested further details regarding~~ Council, has filed an inquiry requesting clarification on the total ~~project cost, the~~ number of lots, the updated cost of the entire project, the remaining funding required, and a definitive timeline for the full completion ~~timeline.~~ of the Sibari–Sila connection. By late August, the region secured 75 million euros for the Sila Greca aqueduct project. Obtained through the SFNIISSI national financial instrument, this investment is the first of four planned interventions to modernize the Abatemarco-Bufalo-Sila Greca water supply system. ~~The project, managed~~ Managed by Sorical, the project aims to serve 47 municipalities in the Cosenza province by upgrading works on the Trionto River, enhancing the Mucone well field, and replacing critical pipelines to improve supply security. Additional works include constructing a new feeder for Bisignano and a new derivation from the Ariamacina reservoir to ensure water availability via gravity-fed volumes during peak summer demand.
