Cambodia is expanding its tourism strategy to include high-value sports tourism by targeting the international golf market. Through a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and Vattanac Golf Resort, the country plans to host major international events in late 2026. Scheduled events include the Vattanac Legends Championship from November 23–29, 27–29, 2026, followed by the Vattanac Tour Championship, which serves as the season finale of the Staysure Legends Tour from November 30 to December 6, 4–6, 2026. These tournaments are expected to attract major champions and former Ryder Cup players, including defending champion David Drysdale. To enhance the event experience, the resort is introducing the ‘Vattanac Legends Amateur Experience’. This initiative will allow a limited number of amateur golfers to compete alongside professionals across three full competitive rounds during the opening week, providing an immersive professional tournament environment. These tournaments are intended to position Cambodia as a competitive golf destination alongside regional neighbors, showcasing the nation’s infrastructure and hospitality to professional golfers and international influencers.
