In late May 2026, Campo Grande approved a six‑month, R$5.3 million program to pave and drain the Jardim Centenário neighbourhood. The works began on 30 May, laying asphalt, installing concrete‑block surfacing, adding 12,000 m² of sidewalks, and constructing 232 m of drainage galleries. On 30 July, a historic storm produced widespread flooding, hail, and power outages. Following this, the city completed a city‑wide LED street‑lighting upgrade, replacing 125,736 lamps. Mayor Adriane Lopes described the completion as a milestone, noting it would cut electricity consumption by 30–35% and enable smart‑city applications like automated monitoring. This makes Campo Grande the third Brazilian capital to achieve 100% LED coverage. On 5 August, the city launched a separate R$12 million paving and drainage initiative for the Vilas Nogueira and Aimoré neighbourhoods under the Vira CG Infraestrutura program. Additionally, the city began a R$2.9 million project on Avenida Ernesto Geisel near the Córrego Anhanduí region as part of a larger R$22.1 million contract for flood control and erosion management. By late August, the Vira CG Infraestrutura program expanded to encompass approximately R$280 million in investments across seven urban regions, focusing on paving, drainage, and resurfacing. Recent administrative actions approved 16 new paving lots and a R$14.1 million contract for the Complexo Lageado ~~region.~~ region, which includes works on 21 roads. The municipality aims to reach R$1 billion in cumulative investments by 2028, contingent on the release of R$411 million in federal funds starting in 2027. Concurrently, sanitation efforts are expanding, with Águas Guariroba working to install 200 kilometers of new sewage pipelines by year-end. To support low-income households, the city and Águas Guariroba are expanding the Water and Sewage Social Tariff, aiming to increase beneficiaries from 23,000 to over 57,000 by linking the 50% discount to the CadÚnico social registry.
