The municipal administration of Campo Grande has engaged in several administrative actions regarding public services and staffing. In August, the administration led by Mayor Adriane Lopes renewed a rental contract for five ambulances at an estimated annual cost of R$ 857,000. This decision faced criticism from the Municipal Health Council, as the municipality had recently received new vehicles from the Ministry of Health. The administration previously stated that federal donations could not be used to expand the Emergency Mobile Care Service (Samu) due to a lack of funds for necessary infrastructure and professional hiring. By September, the City Hall moved to fill various municipal roles by summoning 30 candidates through simplified selection processes. These temporary positions include social workers, psychologists, maintenance assistants, and social agents for sports and leisure, distributed between the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship and the Municipal Sports Foundation. In early September 2026, the city launched a public call for family farmers to participate in the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) under the Simultaneous Purchase and Donation modality (PAA-CDS). This initiative, a partnership with the Federal Government’s Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger, aims to purchase products from local farmers to donate to individuals facing nutritional food insecurity. The program covers 72 types of products, including fruits, vegetables, and processed items like honey and bread. Eligible participants must be local family farmers with an active National Registry of Family Agriculture (CAF) or a valid Declaration of Aptitude to Pronaf (DAP).
