Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has provided clarifications regarding entry and work requirements for foreign nationals. Guidance specifies that an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) or a visitor visa does not grant the right to work; individuals seeking employment must obtain specific permits, such as employer-specific or open work permits, or utilize a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). New eligibility criteria allow Brazilian Canada has expanded its eTA program to include citizens with valid non-immigrant US visas from 17 countries, allowing eligible nationals to apply for an eTA for enter or transit through Canadian airports by air travel to Canada, rather than instead of using a traditional visitor visa. The eligible nations include Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Philippines, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Seychelles, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay. To qualify, qualify for this expanded eTA eligibility, travelers must possess a valid Brazilian passport and have held a US Canadian visitor visa that is valid at the time of the eTA application; however, within the US visa does not necessarily need to remain last 10 years or currently hold a valid on the actual date of travel to Canada. The eTA costs CAD 7 and most applications are processed within minutes. United States non-immigrant visa. This facilitation is strictly limited to air travel. Those travel; those entering via land or sea from the United States must still obtain a standard Canadian Temporary Resident Visa. Furthermore, an eTA does not guarantee entry, as final admission decisions remain at the discretion of border agents.
