Various regional health initiatives and awareness campaigns have launched across Latin America and the Caribbean to combat cancer through early detection and prevention. In Honduras, the Liga Hondubet is conducting its second ‘Jornada Rosa’ during the Apertura tournament, using matchday donations to support the Asociación CEPUDO ‘Listones de Amor’ program. This campaign utilizes football matches to raise awareness for breast cancer, with funds donated to Asociación CEPUDO based on goals scored during specific matchdays. In Mexico, efforts have expanded across several states. In Puebla, the ‘Latido Rosa’ initiative includes a charity race and a ‘Magna Jornada de Salud’ to provide free services such as mammographies, ultrasounds, and Pap tests. In Veracruz, the ‘Ruta Rosa’ program, coordinated with IMSS-Bienestar, provides free mammographies in Agua Dulce. Additionally, DIF Tamaulipas is conducting its ‘Observe, touch and act!’ campaign to offer free screenings and support services, including oncological wigs and prostheses. In Argentina, the ‘Octubre Rosa’ campaign in Olavarría has introduced extended hours for gynecological and breast exams, including ‘La Noche de los PAP’, to assist working women. In San Juan, the ‘San Juan Cerca’ program is integrating cancer screenings with other public services and climate emergency prevention, while in Fernández, the ‘First Tournament for Life’ uses padel to promote organ donation awareness. In Santiago, Dominican Republic, Oncología & Especialidades has initiated its annual campaign, ‘Un chequeo puede cambiarlo todo’ (A checkup can change everything). This program integrates awareness for breast cancer in October and prostate cancer in November under the theme ‘Two months. Two causes. One same purpose.’ In Panama, government institutions have launched campaigns for breast and prostate cancer prevention. The National Assembly illuminated its building in pink and light blue to symbolize support for early detection.
