Various solidarity walks have been organized across Italy to raise funds for cancer research and promote prevention awareness. In mid-October, regional events such as ‘Un passo per la ricerca’ in Casacastalda and a memorial walk in Ceccano raised funds for the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research and Lilt Frosinone, respectively. These local initiatives involved community donations, municipal support, and the sale of commemorative items. Following these local efforts, the 13th edition of the PittaRosso Pink Parade mobilized over 23,000 participants nationwide. Organized by PittaRosso and the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS, this large-scale non-competitive walk aims to support oncological research and female tumor prevention. The Pink Parade has historically raised 9 million euros for the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS over its previous twelve editions. Recent Pink Parade events have included a five-kilometer walk in Castelraimondo organized by Castelraimondo Basket, which drew over 300 participants and included a collective tribute to women lost to the disease. In Quattro Castella, approximately 50 participants raised over 1,000 euros despite uncertain weather. These activities coincide with October, recognized globally as breast cancer awareness month, to promote early diagnosis and health education.
