CardVault, a sports memorabilia and trading card retailer led by Tom Brady, is undergoing significant expansion. The company scheduled the opening of its 17th location at Town & Country Village in Palo Alto for August 15, 2026. This location features a “signature vault” for the authentication and museum-quality display of autographed items. Following this retail development, CardVault secured a strategic investment group composed of high-profile figures from sports, entertainment, and business. Investors include Jay-Z, Aaron Judge, Connor McDavid, Dana White, and various leaders from RedBird Capital, Silver Lake, and Fenway Sports Group. Co-founder Ed Kane stated the company sought ‘builders’ rather than passive investors to help scale the brand and the collectibles industry. The company plans to utilize this capital to establish a national retail network of more than 100 locations, while also improving supply-chain infrastructure and distribution channels. On August 22, 2026, approximately one week after its grand opening, the Palo Alto store was burglarized. Palo Alto police reported that suspects smashed windows and display cases to steal approximately 60 trading cards valued at more than $12,000. No arrests have been made. This incident follows a previous burglary at the company’s SoHo location in New York, where nearly $10,000 in cards were stolen shortly after opening.
