The production of the film ‘Chị chị em em 3’ has seen the announcement of new cast members making their acting debuts. Miss Universe Vietnam 2023, Bùi Quỳnh Hoa, is set to debut as a gentle character in a period setting, portraying the cousin of Thị Mầu. Beauty queen Tô Diệp Hà is also set to debut as an ‘unknown factor’ character. In a significant casting update, actress Chi Pu was officially announced as one of the female leads, portraying Thị Nương. This role marks her return to the cinematic universe seven years after the first installment. During a showcase in Ho Chi Minh City, the full lead cast was introduced, revealing Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc as the final lead, playing Thị Liễu, and Kỳ Duyên as Thị Mầu. The film is set in the historical Kinh Bac region and explores complex romantic entanglements among five central characters. At the film's official premiere on October 23, actor Quoc Anh, who portrays Van Tai, discussed the challenges of filming intense romantic scenes. He noted feeling significant tension during his first bold intimate scenes but credited Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc for her professional chemistry and support. Director Nguyen Huu Hoang’s project focuses on the psychological conflicts and individual pursuits for happiness within a traditional social framework. The official premiere in Ho Chi Minh City drew a large gathering of media and Vietnamese celebrities, including singer Tóc Tiên and Miss Vietnam 2018 Tiểu Vy. During the event, Quốc Anh noted that he requested permission from his co-stars during the filming of intimate scenes to ensure their comfort. Following the premiere, actress Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc addressed her return to the big screen, marking her first feature film in four years.
