Business and regional authorities in Castilla y León are prioritizing industrial investment and the expansion of export capabilities. Officials have noted that exportation serves as a “structural strength” for the community, following a historic high in the trade balance in 2024. In the province of León, local organizations including the Junta de Castilla y León, CEOE Castilla y León, and the Federación Leonesa de Empresarios (Fele) are conducting studies to map industrial assets. This effort aims to identify opportunities for attracting new investment and supporting existing companies by advocating for necessary infrastructure. Expanding on regional innovation, the DATAGRI 2026 forum is scheduled for November 18 and 19 in Valladolid. Organized by the regional Ministry of Agriculture, ITACyL, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the event aims to position the region as a hub for agricultural ~~innovation.~~ innovation and digital transformation. The forum expects to host over 1,500 professionals and 50 technological partners from more than 15 countries, focusing on practical solutions such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation to increase competitiveness for farmers and cooperatives. The congress will feature 80 speakers and showcase technologies including data management, sensors, and drones to reduce operating costs and enable precise decision-making. Additionally, the event will introduce the DATAGRI Next platform, which is designed to connect startups and emerging companies with investors and ~~producers.~~ producers to bridge the gap between academic research and daily agricultural practices.
