The regional government of Castilla y León has initiated several funding programs to address demographic and economic challenges through targeted investments. One initiative involves the Territorial Cohesion Fund, which allocates 33.2 million euros to municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. This program focuses on improving basic infrastructure, including water supply, public lighting, and street paving, to combat depopulation and unemployment. In the province of León, 2.1 million euros will be distributed among 153 small municipalities with populations under 1,000 residents. Additionally, the Junta de Castilla y León has allocated 161,332 euros to modernize Spanish as a foreign language teaching through digital tools. This investment aims to boost linguistic tourism and the regional economy by supporting eight selected projects, primarily in the provinces of Salamanca and Burgos, with interactive learning systems and online platforms. Expanding on rural support, the Ministry of Agriculture has approved a new batch of 20.85 million euros to assist 263 young farmers and livestock breeders, alongside 87 improvement plans. This initiative is designed to accelerate generational replacement, with León leading in the number of approved files. To date, total aid granted for these specific programs has reached 68.98 million euros.
