The casting dispute regarding the Polish film ‘Nigdy w życiu! 20 lat później’ has escalated into a legal and public conflict. Following reports that actress Joanna Jabłczyńska would be replaced by Agnieszka Żulewska in the role of Tosia, producer and author Katarzyna Grochola has accused Jabłczyńska of spreading false information and threatened legal action to defend Żulewska’s reputation. Jabłczyńska maintains her position, alleging that the production lacked transparency and that she was sidelined due to a financier’s preference for Żulewska. While producer Anna Wichłacz stated Jabłczyńska was part of a formal casting process involving five other actresses, the conflict intensified following public commentary from Dorota Szelągowska, who later apologized for calling Jabłczyńska a ‘very bad person’. To avoid a protracted legal battle, Jabłczyńska has issued a formal apology to Grochola for violating her personal rights. As part of a settlement to avoid court, Jabłczyńska has agreed to pay 5,000 PLN to the Rak’n’Roll ~~Foundation and has initiated~~ Foundation. Despite the friction and allegations of historical casting manipulations from producer Janusz Heathcliff Iwanowski, original cast members Danuta Stenka and Marta Lipińska are confirmed to return to the production directed by Greg Zgliński.
