Cath Bowie, a 78-year-old woman from Aberdeen, Scotland, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest female Fortnite streamer. Using the Twitch username ‘grumpygran1948’, she has cultivated a community of more than 24,000 followers. Bowie began her interest in the game in 2017 after watching her grandson play, eventually launching her Twitch channel in 2018 following a family challenge. Despite initial skepticism from her grandson regarding whether anyone would watch her stream, she has maintained a consistent presence on the platform for nearly nine years. She describes herself as a ‘Fortniter’ and emphasizes that age should not be a barrier to gaming culture. Her streaming sessions can last up to six hours a day, with achievement has been featured in the ‘Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027’. The developer of Fortnite, Epic Games, acknowledged her milestone by describing her as a focus ‘goat’. While her earlier streaming focused on community interaction interaction, she has also noted an enjoyment of the game’s competitive nature and the excitement ability to connect with a global community of players across the game rather than competitive play. UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
