A severe traffic accident in the Donja Koprivna settlement near Cazin has left three children, aged 6, 9, and 12, with life-altering injuries. The victims were playing in a family courtyard when a vehicle driven by Fahret Horozović lost control and struck a retaining wall. Medical reports from the Kantonalna bolnica Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić in Bihać indicate that all three children required emergency surgery for massive bleeding, resulting in the traumatic amputation of their right lower legs. The 9-year-old boy remains in a coma with life-threatening head, facial, and femur injuries. Authorities identified the driver, Horozović, as having operated the vehicle at excessive speeds and under the influence of alcohol. Following his arrest, the Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton requested one month of detention, citing the potential for public unrest. The suspect has exercised his right to remain silent as the investigation continues. The incident has been noted alongside a broader trend of fatal traffic accidents across the Balkan region, which includes recent collisions in Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, and other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
