The second season of the ‘Yellowstone’ spin-off series ‘Marshals’ premiered on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Due to an NFL doubleheader, the premiere episode, ‘All Hat No Cattle’, aired at a delayed time of 8:30 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT; the series is expected to return to its regular 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT Sunday slot starting with the second episode, ‘End of Watch’, on October 11. Picking up immediately after the first season’s cliffhanger, the plot follows Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) as he goes rogue to rescue his son, Tate, from being held hostage by Tom Weaver. While viewers anticipated a crossover with the ‘Yellowstone’ universe in Texas, the narrative shifted to Wyoming, where Weaver held Tate on a ranch. The premiere features a violent confrontation involving a criminal network tied to the East Camp land grab. A significant plot development includes the death of Dolly Weaver (Ellyn Jameson) after her vehicle rolled down a mountain during the conflict. Showrunner Spencer Hudnut noted that the premiere episode was “particularly difficult to write due to the heavy narrative stakes.” He further clarified in an interview with TVLine that Dolly Weaver’s death was intended as a punishment for Tom Weaver, as Kayce chooses to let him live with the loss of his daughter. While the first season consisted of 13 episodes, the upcoming season is expected to be larger, potentially containing between 15 and 20 episodes. The series continues to air on CBS, with availability on Paramount+ the following day, and production continues in Summit and Morgan counties, Utah.
