Celta Vigo squad and ~~management~~ defensive performance updates

Celta Vigo is managing various squad challenges, including recent losses in European competition and an injury crisis. Manager Claudio Giráldez noted that the team has had to call up players from Fortuna to bolster the roster, with specific updates provided on Sebastián Cáceres and Javi Rodríguez. Following a match against Juventus, Giráldez expressed frustration regarding late losses in consecutive European games, stating that results did not reflect the team’s performance. Despite these challenges, Celta Vigo secured a 2-1 victory over Deportivo Alavés at the Estadio ABANCA Balaídos, supported by crucial saves from goalkeeper Radu. The win, which marked the team's second of the season, followed tactical changes by Giráldez that saw Jutglà score the opening goal in the 53rd minute. However, the team subsequently faced significant logistical hurdles when a mechanical failure on a charter flight following a Europa League victory against Celtic caused major travel delays. Giráldez noted that the delay disrupted recovery but stated that fatigue and travel issues “must not serve as an excuse” for the team's performance. In their matchday 10 La Liga fixture against Real Betis at Estadio Abanca Balaídos, Celta Vigo played to a 0-0 draw. While Celta utilized high pressure and quick transitions, they lacked clinical finishing. Real Betis goalkeeper Álvaro Valles was named match MVP after making several decisive saves in the first half to maintain the clean sheet. ~~The~~ This result ~~extends~~ secured Celta Vigo’s ~~seven-match unbeaten streak~~ fifth clean sheet in the ~~league, as~~ first ten matches of the ~~team maintains a strong defensive record, having conceded~~ season, leaving them with only seven goals conceded and the league-best defensive record.
