The Central Adriatic Sea Port Authority has approved its 2027 to 2029 Triennial Operational Plan, which allocates approximately €308 million for infrastructure and modernization projects through 2028. The funding is distributed between the Marche region, receiving nearly €218 million, and the Abruzzo region, receiving nearly €91 million. Planned works include dredging operations to accommodate larger vessels, terminal modernization, and the digitalization of processes. In Ancona, specific projects involve dredging seabed areas near berths 19 to 26 to reach a depth of 14 meters. In San Benedetto del Tronto, the plan allocates €30 million for the design of the first stage of a northern expansion, referred to as the ‘third arm’ of the port. Recent reports indicate that approximately 345 million USD has been allocated for the 2027–2029 period within the Adriatic Central Port System. This includes 245 million USD for the Marche region and 100 million USD for Abruzzo. Key projects involve dredging operations, expansions for Fincantieri, and terminal modernizations in Ancona and San Benedetto del Tronto.
