Cerro Porteño has undergone a managerial change following a period of poor results, including a loss in the Superclásico against Olimpia and elimination from the Copa Libertadores. The club terminated the tenure of Argentine manager Ariel Holan, who had been with the team since April. Gustavo Costas has been appointed to replace Holan, marking a return to the Paraguayan club where he previously coached from 2005 to 2007. Costas described the appointment as a ‘beautiful challenge’ and expressed a commitment to restoring the team’s identity and morale.
