Infosys and Chainlink entered a strategic partnership to expand institutional access to on-chain financial markets. This collaboration focuses on providing a standardized integration framework for blockchain infrastructure, utilizing technologies such as the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), and the Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) to assist clients with tokenized assets, payments, and settlement services. Following this, Chainlink has since launched CCIP 2.0, an upgraded version of its interoperability protocol tailored for institutional users and digital asset issuers. The update introduced introduces Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCV), allowing which allow financial institutions and asset issuers to implement run independent verification layers for customized alongside Chainlink’s default 16-node network. This enables customizable security, compliance, and transaction controls like KYC controls, such as KYC, AML, and AML. The upgrade also improved transaction flexibility sanctions screening, through faster integration with the Automated Compliance Engine. Technical enhancements in CCIP 2.0 include an opt-in faster-than-finality execution path for Ethereum-linked transfers, potentially reducing confirmation options times to 12–24 seconds. Users can also configure modular fees, transaction limits, and enhanced settlement requirements. However, documentation indicates that unresponsive CCVs may cause delays or stalls in token delivery. Additionally, Chainlink is developing infrastructure to connect traditional banking systems with to Swift’s blockchain-based ledger for managing ledger. Supported by the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), this integration aims to facilitate 24/7 cross-border payments using tokenized deposits deposits. In this model, banks retain control over their internal deposit ledgers and cross-border payments. transaction-signing keys while utilizing Swift’s ledger as a coordination layer for interbank transactions.
