Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams has been named the face of Chanel’s new fragrance, Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu. The campaign features a film directed by Joe Wright set against Parisian backdrops, depicting a narrative of instinct and movement. Following the announcement of Abrams as the ambassador, Chanel officially launched the fragrance on August 19, coinciding with the birthday of the brand’s founder, Gabrielle Chanel. Created by perfumer Olivier Polge, the scent is described as an intense ambery composition and a sweeter iteration compared to the original eau de parfum. Its profile includes top notes of lychee and grapefruit, a heart of rose and jasmine, and a base of patchouli, vanilla, and vetiver. To celebrate the release, the fashion house hosted an immersive event in Polanco, Mexico City, titled ‘Café Mademoiselle’, which recreated the Art Deco Parisian bistro depicted in the campaign film. To mark the 25th anniversary of the original 2001 fragrance, Chanel is expanding the Coco Mademoiselle franchise with a dedicated makeup collection scheduled for release in late 2026. This collector’s series, which Abrams is also associated with, includes nine eyeshadows, blush, nail polish, top coats in beige and brown tones, and a ‘Rouge Coco Crush’ lipstick. The collection’s aesthetic draws inspiration from the black and gold packaging of the original perfume. In September 2026, Chanel continues to mark these milestones through its fashion and fragrance lines. Additionally, Singaporean actors Kheng Hua and her daughter Shi-An were featured in the magazine 《女友》 (Her) for its 50th anniversary, wearing Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection.
