Channel 5 has confirmed the second series of the psychological crime thriller ‘The Game’. The new season features returning leads Jason Watkins and Robson Green, reprising their roles as former detective Huw Miller and serial killer Patrick Harbottle. Set one year after the events of the first season, the plot follows Huw as he attempts to rebuild his life following a near-fatal stabbing by Harbottle. While Harbottle is currently incarcerated, the series will explore the ongoing psychological struggle between the two characters. Robson Green noted that a characters, focusing on themes of obsession and trauma. Ahead of the second season was not originally planned but was greenlit due premiere, Sphere Abacus has secured extensive international sales for the series, which is produced by Clapperboard Studios. While the first series reached broadcasters such as Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, TV2 in Norway, and Mystery Channel in Japan, the second season has already been sold to critical acclaim international distributors including Foxtel Group in Australia, SVT in Sweden, Sky New Zealand, and strong viewing figures.
