Charles Alloncle corruption probe dismissal

Overview

In late July 2026, France’s National Financial Prosecutor closed the anti‑corruption association AC!!’s complaint against UDR deputy Charles Alloncle. Prosecutors said the legal notion of “illegal interest” does not apply to parliamentary work and that the evidence did not show an undue advantage or influence‑peddling.

A few days later, the same decision was reiterated. The August report noted that the parliamentary commission’s six‑month investigation, whose findings were published in early May, had not involved any direct contact between Alloncle and Lagardère News’s president. While the criminal investigation ended, the summary added that political scrutiny of Alloncle’s conduct could continue.
