Violent crime and homicide incidents continue across Latin America, with a heavy concentration of activity in Mexico and Colombia. In Mexico, violence has manifested through various methods, including dismembered bodies found in Chile and burned vehicles in Puebla. In Puebla, a burned Seat Ibiza was found with a note signed ‘La Familia Michoacana’ threatening security officials. Michoacán remains a focal point, with reports of bodies found in storm drains, near rivers, and in cornfields, sometimes linked to clashes between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and ‘La Barredora.’ Recent reports indicate escalating organized crime activity in Mexico. In Jerez, an armed confrontation between criminal groups resulted in at least five deaths and several abductions.
