Chase has updated its Air Canada Aeroplan Credit Card, increasing the annual fee from $95 to $195 while introducing new travel perks. These benefits include automatic Aeroplan 25K Elite Status, a 15% discount on Aeroplan point redemptions for eligible Air Canada flights, and up to $100 in annual statement credits for Air Canada purchases. Due to the partnership and joint venture between Air Canada and United Airlines, cardholders who receive Aeroplan Silver status through the card also gain Star Alliance Silver benefits. This provides specific perks on United Airlines, such as group 2 boarding priority and a free checked bag of up to 50 pounds on eligible itineraries, even for basic economy fares. Recent updates confirm that primary cardholders can access the 15% discount on flight rewards by linking their card to their Aeroplan account. This discount applies to itineraries where at least one segment is operated by Air Canada or its subsidiaries, including Air Canada Express or Air Canada Rouge. Additionally, Aeroplan has launched a promotional contest in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross. The contest, which ends on October 09, 2026, offers a single prize of 250,000 Aeroplan points, valued at approximately $9,375 CAD. Participants may enter by donating $100 CAD or via a no-purchase entry method. Aeroplan has announced a major refresh of its Canadian co-branded credit card portfolio, with new benefits scheduled to begin on January 12, 2027. The refresh includes ongoing benefits such as a 4th night free hotel redemption and a new 4th day free car rental redemption. Through the AC Wallet, Premium cardholders will receive up to $100 annually toward Air Canada travel, while Core cardholders will receive up to $50 annually. These credits will be distributed in two installments per year starting January 15, 2027.
