Chelmsford City has achieved successive victories in cup competitions. The club first secured a 1-0 win against Canvey Island in the FA Cup, with Jack Barham scoring the winning goal in the 71st minute. During that match, manager Mark Cooper described Canvey goalkeeper David Hughes’ performance as “incredible”. Following this, Chelmsford City progressed further in the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Brackley Town, featuring goals from Denzelle Olopade and Nathan Ralph. The club also saw success in the FA Youth Cup, where the academy team defeated Hornchurch 6-0. Building on this momentum, the Chelmsford City Youth Academy secured a place in the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup after defeating Leverstock Green FC Academy in a penalty shootout. The match at the Dunmow Group Community Stadium ended 1-1 following a stoppage-time equalizer by Leverstock Green. In the shootout, goalkeeper Bear made three saves, while Will Meek, Sam Black, and captain Will Mitchell converted their penalties to ensure progression. The academy is scheduled to face Leyton Orient Academy in the next round.
