Since May 2026 Chinese manufacturers have accelerated the global rollout of SUVs and crossovers. Chery posted record deliveries, launched a luxury line for Pakistan, partnered with Huawei on the premium Luxeed RX, and expanded the Lepas sub‑brand with the L6 in Australia and the L8 Super‑Hybrid in Spain. XPeng rolled out upgraded G6 models in Australia and Europe, added the MONA L03 crossover and a refreshed G6 sedan with a 571‑litre boot and twelve‑minute fast‑charging. BYD’s Denza unveiled the high‑performance Formula S lift‑back and a Dolphin G DM‑i hybrid for Europe. Leapmotor announced a low‑cost B03X SUV for Spain, and Lepas introduced an inexpensive L4 electric SUV for the Spanish market. In late July 2026 XPeng announced the L03 compact SUV‑coupé, a high‑performance AI‑driven model with a 400‑volt architecture that can charge from 20 % to 80 % in 18 minutes, delivering up to 520 km (WLTP) as a pure EV and up to 1,000 1 000 km with a range‑extender hybrid. The L03 will debut in Austria in Q4 2026 before reaching the United Kingdom and many other markets in 2027. Lepas unveiled the L8 plug‑in hybrid, retaining the “Leopard Aesthetics” design and a 279 hp super‑hybrid powertrain that offers a 90‑km electric WLTP range, a 2,800 2 800 mm wheelbase and premium equipment. The L8 will be sold across several European markets, including Greece, Mozambique, Brunei and Spain, underscoring a broader push by Chinese makers into the European premium‑EV segment. Further European rollout details confirmed the L03 launch schedule and highlighted the L8’s premium features. In Spain the L8 entered the midsize SUV segment with an Essence trim priced at €33,990 and an Elegance trim at €36,490, offering featuring a 13.2‑inch central display, Snapdragon 8155 processor and a seven‑year warranty.
