The Chicago Bears are working to strengthen their defensive roster through player evaluations and potential acquisitions. Head coach Ben Johnson indicated that Davenport is expected to provide depth and competition to the edge rusher position rather than serving as a primary starter. Johnson noted that the team has a specific plan to ramp up Davenport’s involvement, as he is not yet ready to begin practice.
