Chihuahua and El Paso have renewed their sister city agreement to strengthen binational ties and regional economic development. Following the signing by Chihuahua Mayor Marco Bonilla and El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson, business leaders met to discuss collaboration in strategic areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry. Community and cultural initiatives continue to support regional connectivity. These include The Chihuahua State DIF has launched the sixth edition of its ‘Juntos contra el Frío’ charity campaign (Together Against the Cold) campaign, aiming to collect 37,500 new or high-quality jackets for children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. The initiative primarily targets those in the Sierra Tarahumara region and the border zones, as well as zone, with collection centers in Chihuahua City and Ciudad Juárez operating from September 10 to November 30. Historically, the announcement campaign has gathered over 147,000 jackets and nearly 60 tons of food. Other regional activities include the eighth edition of the U.S.-Mexico 10K binational race between Ciudad Juárez and El Paso. Additionally, the region is hosting Paso, and ComicFest 7, featuring which features various cultural and digital media activities.
