Reports have emerged regarding separate incidents of alleged child abuse at private educational facilities in Delhi. In the Bawana area, a school cab driver named Vikas was arrested following the alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old nursery student. The incident was discovered after the child’s mother observed physical injuries and behavioral changes. CCTV footage reportedly showed the suspect following the child toward a washroom while offering chocolates. New details indicate the victim identified the driver on August 24 after being shown CCTV footage and photographs. Preliminary investigations suggest the child may have been abused on four separate occasions. During the investigation, police seized the accused’s mobile phone, which reportedly contained videos of him offering chocolates to other young children. Authorities are working to identify these children to provide counseling. Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are investigating whether other children were targeted. the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In a separate incident in the Maujpur area, a 35-year-old playschool attendant was arrested for the alleged physical and mental abuse of a three-and-a-half-year-old child. CCTV footage reportedly captured the child being tied to a chair, kicked, and having his ears pulled. The child’s parents reported physical injuries and behavioral changes, such as a fear of using the washroom. Following a complaint, police registered a case against the attendant, a teacher, and the school’s director and principal. The family also alleged that the school initially denied the incidents and requested money to grant access to CCTV footage.
