Tuzla is hosting a series of international cultural festivals for children in October. The ‘Vezeni most’ International Children’s Festival, scheduled for October 14 to 17, focuses on literature. Organized by the Association of Friends of Books – ‘Mali princ’ Society, the event features authors and illustrators from Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighboring countries. A key component is the ‘Mali princ’ regional award for the best children’s book, with eight titles from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, and Serbia in competition. The Tuzla Canton Government is co-financing the event with a contribution of 9,000 KM. Additionally, the Tuzla Municipality is organizing an International Children’s Film Festival from October 8 to October 11. This event will showcase short and long-length films at various venues, including Tuzla Yaşam Aydınlı, Şifa Kültür Merkezi, and Tuzla Sahil Sahnesi, providing children with opportunities to meet directors and learn about film production. Following these events, the second Youth Film Creativity Festival (FFSM) is scheduled for October 27 to 30 at the Bosnian Cultural Center of Tuzla Canton. Part of the ‘7th Days of Audiovisual Heritage and Art’, the festival features over 40 film submissions from young creators in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the surrounding region. Competitive categories include mentored high school films themed ‘Family’, primary and secondary school films themed ‘Homeland’, and a category for university and youth authors.
