Educational initiatives in Chile have focused on diverse approaches to student development and community engagement. Early efforts, such as the Anglo American ‘Modelo Pionero’ initiative in the Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions, aimed to link school curricula with technological and environmental challenges for approximately 20,000 students. Subsequent developments expanded to include family-oriented programs and transitions to higher education. In Pica, the ‘Centro de Familia’ program was launched to strengthen the role of families in early childhood education. Other regional efforts included the National Education Congress in Atacama to address systemic challenges, university outreach programs in Talca and Valdivia to assist high school students, and student-led meetings with municipal authorities in Villarrica regarding local school concerns. Recent activities continue to emphasize regional engagement and public-private cooperation. The University of Talca is hosting an open house for high school students, while a public-private alliance in Pica is working to support early childhood education for more than 250 children. Furthermore, a new partnership between the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and Chilquinta has been established to drive innovation regarding the sustainable energy transition.
